THE GRANDE REMISE
"Where standards are not imposed — they are inherited."
The Grande Remise is not a service category. It is a philosophy, born in the carriageways and ateliers of nineteenth-century France, where the finest houses of Paris first codified what it meant to transport a person of consequence with absolute fidelity to comfort, timing, and discretion. Long before the motor car, the remise was the room in which a carriage was housed, prepared, and kept in readiness — a physical expression of a household's standards.
The Fédération Française de la Grande Remise was established to preserve, transmit, and certify those standards in the modern age. Where the luxury transport industry had become dominated by price competition and anonymity, FFGR chose instead the opposite path: rigour, apprenticeship, and the elevation of the chauffeur's craft to its rightful place within the luxury arts.
FFGR UK is the Federation's British chapter — an embassy of this spirit in a country that has always understood the profound relationship between ceremony, movement, and the expression of rank. Here, the traditions of French savoir-faire and British protocol meet not as rivals, but as complementary languages of excellence.

THE FEDERATION
FFGR UK membership is reserved for luxury ground transport operators who uphold — or aspire to uphold — the standards of the Grande Remise tradition. It is not a licence, nor a directory listing. It is a professional commitment, recognised across the FFGR Worldwide network.
The FFGR Approved Partner designation is awarded to hospitality establishments — palaces, grand hotels, private members' clubs — whose ground transport standards meet the Federation's requirements. It is a mark of confidence for their guests, and a commitment to consistent excellence.
FFGR UK represents the interests of the luxury ground transport profession before institutional interlocutors — government bodies, embassies, trade associations, and the press. As the British voice of a pan-European federation, FFGR UK engages where individual operators cannot.
IFGR ACADEMY UK
The Institut Français de la Grande Remise delivers professional certification programmes designed to elevate the practice of luxury ground transport from a trade to a recognised discipline. Programmes are delivered in English, at venues across London and the United Kingdom.
A comprehensive programme covering vehicle presentation standards, route management, VIP client protocol, discretion obligations, emergency procedures, and the history and philosophy of the Grande Remise tradition. Upon successful completion, candidates receive the IFGR Certified Chauffeur designation — the only French-standard professional qualification for luxury chauffeurs recognised across the FFGR Worldwide network.
Designed for concierge professionals in luxury hospitality and private household service, this programme covers the coordination of ground transport for ultra-high-net-worth principals, diplomatic guests, and corporate VIPs. Topics include security awareness, discretion protocols, language of luxury service, and the management of multi-leg itineraries with precision timing requirements.
Delivered in partnership with accredited UK security training providers (SIA-compliant), this programme bridges the disciplines of close protection and luxury chauffeur service. Candidates learn threat assessment, counter-surveillance awareness, secure routing, and the behavioural standards expected in high-profile principal protection environments — without compromising the discretion and refinement of the luxury experience.
An immersive programme in the history, culture, and codes of the Grande Remise tradition. Covering the evolution of the luxury coachbuilding arts from the Ancien Régime to the golden age of the motor car, the etiquette of service in French, British, and international luxury contexts, and the vocabulary of excellence that distinguishes the truly educated practitioner from the merely competent one.
PATRONAGE & HERITAGE
France gave the world its first great motor cars — Bugatti, Voisin, Delage, Hispano-Suiza. These were not merely machines; they were expressions of a national genius for combining engineering with art. FFGR UK's Patronage programme exists to support the restoration, preservation, and cultural promotion of this heritage, ensuring that future generations may know and value what the twentieth century's finest craftsmen achieved.

"The IFGR certification gave our team something no other programme had offered before: a language. A shared vocabulary of excellence that our clients recognise, even when they cannot name it."
"FFGR UK membership opened doors — in the literal sense. Hotels that previously managed their own transport recommendations now refer their guests to our company. The designation carries real weight in this industry."
"The Heritage & Etiquette programme is unlike anything available in the United Kingdom. For a concierge professional, understanding the cultural depth behind the services we arrange changes everything about how we present them."
